Water / Well
One of the biggest ongoing challenges we have at Jerusalem Children’s Home, is supplying a good, reliable and safe water source for the children. The ideal thing would be to be able to drill a well. Although, the cost of that would run between $10,000-$15,000. So, as to date, we have not had the money to do that. The alternative is to truck water at a cost of about $250 per month. In the past, we have been able to budget only $100 per month, but due to recent drought conditions in Haiti, we have had to truck water from a nearby oceanside town, and that has increased the cost 150%. It would be our ideal to drill a well in the near future, and we would like to start raising funds towards this. Then water would be plentiful, and right on the grounds, for the children.
